The fifth and final race of the 2017 Port Phillip Women’s Championship Series (PPWCS) for 2017 will be contested on Sunday 30 April as the Sunday Race of the Brighton Lady Skippers Series (BLiSS) two day regatta.

Now in its ninth year, Royal Brighton Yacht Club (RBYC) signature women’s regatta has again provided a lead up to the regatta with two excellent training sessions providing a ‘Gateway’ for female sailors of all abilities to step up to key roles. Thanks to AMS Yacht Racing Services for their sponsorship in enabling the BLiSS committee to once again engage Gavin Dagley, World Laser Master champion 2016 to conduct the sessions, which have attracted rave reviews from both novices and experienced sailors alike.

Saturday 29 April sees three windward-leeward races scheduled. Sunday provides a longer single passage race which also constitutes the RBYC Associates Cup for RBYC female helms.

The only requirement for boat entry is for a female helm with any crew mix, but a trophy for the best performing all female crew for the event will also be awarded.

Boats from visiting clubs are encouraged to attend with provision of free mooring for the regatta and the chance to take home the BLiSS Teams Trophy for the club with the highest level of participation in both racing and training activities. Bonus points for ‘junior’ helms under 19yrs and ‘senior’ helms over 60yrs!

Notice of Race is now online and close of entries extended without financial penalty until close of business Friday 28 April.
