Shirley Freeman Trophy goes 'Ciao Bella' for Round 4 PPWCS 2017

by Rosie Colahan

Round 4 of Port Phillip Women’s Championship Series (PPWCS) kicks off this Sunday 2 April 2017, with hosts Hobson’s Bay Yacht Club going ‘Bellisima’ for their annual Lady Skippers Race, the Shirley Freeman Trophy Race and their non spinnaker division the Bellisima Cup.

In the wake of their 2016 record of 32 boats for the event and the single largest fleet to date for a PPWCS race, and with a reputation for hosting the best parties, do not miss the opportunity for some great racing and fabulous food and hospitality back at the clubhouse. Bring your mentors and crews for an Italian Feast of pasta and plonk for $20pp. Bookings appreciated to info@hbyc.org.au

Racing kicks off with first warning signal 1055 for the racing divisions and 1105 for the Non spinnaker division. Weather forecast currently is looking good with 15k SE breezes. For those sailing from other clubs, the courses for the day will be announced on VHF 73 at 1030hrs. In the event of a gale warning, the race will not be started or racing will be abandoned.

Further information including NOR, SIs and Entry is available on the HBYC website under Lady Skippers Races.

Ciao Bella! Buona Fortuna! See you there.
