Jennifer Goldsmith Trophy ‘glams up’ Race 3 of Port Phillip Women’s Championship Series 2017

by Rosie Colahan

The third race of the Port Phillip Women’s Championship Series for 2017 is coming up this Sunday 19 March with Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron (RMYS) hosting the Jennifer Goldsmith Trophy race.

The event is sponsored by the Goldsmith family in memory of Jennifer, a passionate sailor and contributor to the club, who died from melanoma. Each year, the family provide a cache of beautiful trophies for the winners and wine for each of the skippers.

All entry fees for the event go to Melanoma research.

The weather is shaping up for a sunny 31 degrees and gentle northerlies to 10 knots so a perfect day on the water.

Racing kicks off with first warning for the Racing divisions (AMS, IRC, EHC) at 1055 followed by the Non Spinnaker division warning at 1100 hrs. Courses to be sailed will be Squadron courses around fixed marks. Enter now for this signature event.

Come back and enjoy the luncheon and presentation after racing. Cost is $22.50 per head and bookings are essential. Please contact Danielle Cooper racing@rmys.com.au to book.

Further information about the Jennifer Goldsmith Trophy including entry, NOR and SIs, is available on the RMYS website.

Further information about the Port Phillip Women’s Championship Series can be accessed via the Women & Girls in Sailing website.

Good luck to all those competing. We look forward to seeing you on the water.
